Hello from Claire and Trevor, and welcome to our website for Cambourne Tutoring, 'a little business with a big heart', supporting local children in Cambridgeshire and beyond.
A bit about us...
We are both fully qualified teachers with over 30 years of teaching experience between us, fully insured and DBS checked.
Cambourne Tutoring began in 2018 when our eldest daughter started Reception. Over the years, we have been thrilled to help and support many families from early English and Mathematics to entrance and GCSE exams. As Cambourne Tutoring has grown, our team of teachers has also grown, adding greater specialism and a wealth of teaching experience.
We always aim to deliver high quality teaching, through precise and tailored planning that is fun, purposeful and effective.

What we offer...
At Cambourne Tutoring, we provide specific learning support for English, Maths and Science for children in primary and secondary schools through one to one and small group sessions.
Before tutoring sessions begin, we offer an initial meeting with parents and children. This could take place in your home or online. The aim of the meeting is for you and your child to get to know your tutor and ask any questions you may have.
All learning is carried out in accordance with the National Curriculum or where appropriate, your child's specific school curriculum. Our lessons also include homework to allow your child to consolidate or extend their learning based on what has been taught. Ongoing feedback, whether from home or from school is welcomed and learning plans are adapted to accommodate changes. We are always flexible and responsive to the needs of your child.
Cambourne Tutoring offers both face to face and online tutoring sessions.

No travel time ensures a prompt start and maximum learning.

Busy family life is uninterrupted as sessions can take place from any location; we have taught from China to Switzerland, Italy to India and all over the UK - circumstances may change but learning stays consistent.

Our live and interactive tools enable children, what ever their age, to experience learning as seamlessly as in our in-person sessions. Additionally, students feel empowered as they can freely communicate with tutors especially during intense study periods such as GCSE preparation.
Examinations
Cambourne Tutoring is proud of its high success rate in securing pupils a place in their preferred school. Through targeted teaching and exam practice, we will prepare your child to feel confident and relaxed so that they can achieve their best.
Supporting our Community
We are delighted to have worked alongside the fantastic charity, Romsey Mill, and for over the last five years - providing tuition for vulnerable children and those with Education Health Care Plans. This has been incredibly rewarding.
In 2019, we created Cambourne Chess to give children the opportunity to gain the practical and educational benefits from learning and playing chess. We currently have two teams who play competitively in the Cambridgeshire Chess Championships and represent Cambourne proudly - winning gold, silver and bronze in recent years.
